Global Prospects Academy

The Global Prospects Academy (GPA) is an elite development academy featuring the highest levels of training in the sport of Hockey, Ice Skating, and Sports Performance/Recovery, accompanied by an Educational curriculum partnership for the student of the future. The Global Prospects Academy encompasses training platforms for ages 8 – 17, not only attracting athletes from the local/regional community, but from international destinations. The access to educational freedom allows flexibility to the student and family and the ability to excel in both sport and academics.

Global Prospects Academy is dedicated to establishing self-motivated members of the hockey community, locally and internationally.  GPA is determined to create a solid foundation, balancing both a strong academic focus and a dynamic sports program, that sets our well-rounded student-athletes up for radiant success both on and off the ice.

North Tampa Christian Academy is the official educational partner of Global Prospects Academy.  Fully Accredited, North Tampa Christian Academy provides an immersive on-campus experience that encourages innovation through project-based learning and an engaging thematic structure.  With its comprehensive off-campus options, there is sure to be a suitable fit for any athlete that still emphasizes academics.

SAFETY

Your child’s health and safety are of paramount importance to us – it is our priority.  Each age group has a dedicated assistant coach and academic supervisor who stays with them all day.  Social distancing will be enforced whenever possible.  Our students are held to a higher standard while enrolled in the academy, so their dedication to remaining safe, respectful, and polite will also be expected.

Mike Craig

Coach Mike grew up in the mitten state and has been playing hockey since a kid. Growing up in Michigan he played for multiple state championship teams out of the Detroit Skate Club, he then went on to play junior hockey for the Metro Jets out of Waterford, MI. Mike played his college hockey while he attended Michigan State University. After graduation he spent 10 years in the beautiful state of North Carolina where he started his family, ultimately moving south 6 years ago.

Since moving to Florida in 2014 he has engaged in coaching youth ice hockey and lacrosse, and now is the Head Coach of the Tampa Bay Crunch Squirt AA Hockey program out of the Advent Health Center Ice Arena in Wesley Chapel, FL. He has a Level 3 certification from USA hockey. With his knowledge and passion for the game, Mike’s main goal as a youth coach is to teach the youth to not just be better hockey players but also better human beings.

Mark Gochenour

Mark Gochenour is a former world class athlete and degreed exercise physiologist with an expertise in speed development, strength training, orthopedics and Metabolics.  He has spent over 20 years developing athletes in the United States and around the world.  Accomplishments include building the first and largest  Sports Performance Training Center in the Middle East for both Men and Women.  In addition he is a consultant for the United States Military which included black operation for the US Air Force and Special Operations for the US Army.  In addition he has consulted with TAMPA SWAT, the DEA, and the FBI.  He has guided thousands of athletes to championships in the NFL, NHL, MLB, NCAA, and 2 Indy 500 victories.

Full participation (hockey & school) for U10, U13, and U17 groups is $15,900.00.  Tampa Bay Crunch players receive $1,000 discount (making total $14,900.00).

Participation in hockey component only: for U10 & U13 groups is $10,000, while U17 will cost $11,000 for the hockey season/academic school year.  Tampa Bay Crunch registered players will receive $1,000 discount.

A $450.00 registration fee will apply to all applicants. Monthly payment plans are available at an additional 5% fee.

**Registration fee will be waived when payments are made in-full prior to September 8**

 

Included in the total cost:

Daily ice time

60 minutes of off-ice conditioning, focusing on physical strength, cardiovascular endurance, agility and flexibility with a complete recovery platform, strength and conditioning, and mobility.

30 minutes of classroom time to focus on strategies and tactics of the game, nutrition, general well-being, and character development.

Apparel: Two practice jerseys, socks, polo, t-shirt, shorts & backpack

Additional Costs/Packages:

Academics provided from North Tampa Christian Academy

Clothing: practice jerseys and school uniform will be required for daily use.  Additional clothing options will be made available

Meal package: Students will be able to purchase lunch daily/monthly/annually
